We have a full workshop here at the Danfay Newlands store. Using Genuine Yamaha parts and Yamalube oils on all services, we strive to bring you the highest quality service on every Yamaha that comes in our door.
Our team of mechanics have multiple years in the motorcycle industry and are Yamaha Gold, Silver and Bronze trained. They know their way around these machines and will provide you with the best service possible.
We always stand by the theory of “If you look after something, it will look after you”. With that in mind, we have decided to overhaul our service plans to be simpler, in order to be more transparent and to not leave you with a shock at the bill.
By aligning the service packages with that of Yamaha’s service schedule we aim to keep your bike in tip-top condition during its entire life.
Annual Service
Your yearly service is one of the most important to stay on top of things and keep tabs on wear and tear items on the bike. That way, we can catch anything before something major pops up.
- · Visual inspection on the bike for any damage
- · Inspect the swingarm bearings for freeplay and notching
- · Inspection of wheel bearings for smoothness
- · Inspection of steering bearings
- · Inspection of fork bushes for knocking
- · Lubrication of all pivot points
- · Inspection of throttle freeplay
- · Inspection of clutch cable freeplay
- · Battery Health check
- · Inspection of the charging system
- · Inspection of electrical components light switches etc
- · Perform full Yamaha diagnostic suite including
o Checking for any fault codes
o Checking for any active recalls
o Checking for any engine map updates
o Performing a Dynamic Inspection
o Providing a printout of the results
- · Replacement of brake fluid
- · Inspection of brake pads and disc
- · Inspection of brake lever operation
- · Inspection of coolant system operation
- · Inspection of the coolant expansion bottle
- · Replacement of coolant fluid
- · Replacement of oil & Oil filter
- · Adjust tyre pressures to the correct level
- · Inspect tyre wear
- · Adjust chain tension and alignment to correct specifications
- · Clean and lubricate the chain

Major Service includes Valve clearance inspection & adjustment, oil, Oil filter, Air filter, spark plugs, coolant & brake fluid. All done using genuine parts and fluids

- · All seals that are distrurbed are replaced with genuine parts
- · Inspection carried out of cam chain tensioner operation
- · Inspect preformed on camshafts for wear
- · Visually inspection on the bike for any damage

- · Inspection of wheel bearings for smoothness
- · Inspection of steering bearings
